This haul is long overdue but I wanted to share what I picked up during my trip to the UK a few months back.

1. The Vagrant by Peter Newman

This has been on my tbr for awhile. I bought this over at Trans Real Fiction in Edinburgh. When I saw they had books 2 and 3 and I asked if they had book 1, they offered to have it ordered for me so I said yes. Looking forward to this one.

2. The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie

I bought this from Armchair Books also in Edinburgh. This was one was rather an impulsive buy. I had no real reason to buy the book except it’s on my tbr and I just felt like buying a book.

3. Bloody Scotland

I picked this up at a gift shop at Urquhart Castle. I was curious about reading from Scottish authors or short stories relating to Scotland.

4. North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell

This nice Folio Society edition I got at Ken Spellman Bookshop in York.

5. The Brown Fairy Book by Andrew Lang, Folio Society Edition (not pictured)

6. The Secret Garden (not pictured)

Both the Brown Fairy Book and the Secret Garden are folio editions I just happen to stumble across at Hatchard’s in London! I was very surprised by this find. Unfortunately, the Brown Fairy Book didn’t come with a slipcase but I got a 10% discount to make up for it.

7. The Blue Fairy Book (not pictured)

Another fairy book! I don’t even remember the name of the bookshop where I got this. I only remember it’s near the Palace Theater in London where I got to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

8. Analog Science Fiction Magazine

I came across some vintage copies of this sci-fi magazine at an Oxfam or some other charity shop. Very interested in reading these short stories.

9. Complete Shakespeare (not pictured)

From Shakespeare’s Globe, I found this edition to be an accessible way to get into Shakespeare. It looks a lot like a Shakespeare children’s book with all its illustrations. It’s such a nice book to look at. I’ve tried and failed to start reading Shakespeare so here’s hoping I’ll have better luck with this edition.

10. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

I hopped on the hype train to see if this was worth reading. I wrote a review of this YA fantasy inspired by African culture.

On a side note, just came back from New York and while it wasn’t the literary gold mine that is London or just the UK in general, I was able to pick up a few bookish things.
